If you don’t remember using a proxy server to access the Internet before you really don’t need to go through a proxy server. Proxy server is like a computer which hides your IP address on the Internet and many companies use Proxy Servers for security reasons. However in most cases, when you are running computer from Home or Office, you really don’t need to go through a proxy server. Unless you remember that your Internet Service Provider or Network Administrator advised you to use a proxy server, you should check Internet Explorer settings to make sure you are not going through a proxy server. Please follow these steps :-
A) Click on Internet Explorer icon on desktop. Alternatively, you can click on Start/Run, type “iexplore” and click OK.
B) When Internet Explorer launches, please click on Tools->Internet Options.
C) Then you will see “Internet Options” dialog box. Please click on “Connections” tab page and then click on “LAN Settings” button.
D) Click on “LAN settings” to check Local Area Network Settings. Make sure that “Automatically detect settings” is checked and other options are unchecked. If you see “Use a proxy server for your LAN” check box is checked, please uncheck it and click on OK button. Now try to run Internet and most likely you should be successful.
